Summary: Credit where credit is due, these brain-eating creatures didn't come to life because someone wanted to flip a book, unlike the Fiends. In fact, we have no idea where these things came from, or what they really are. And you know what? Perhaps it's best to keep it that way.

History: The closest thing we get to an explanation for these things is one of their victims mentioning the Carboniferous Period. If that's the case, then what's with that spiral ship thing that came out of the ground, no doubt unleashing them? UGH, now my brain hurts just thinking about it. Either way, their objective was simple. Just find a good host to latch onto and persist. And humans can provide all the survival they need for the perfect utopia.

Final Fate: Eventually, the humans come up with a zany scheme to use high-voltage wire to electrocute all the brain eaters in their own ship. It actually works.

Powers/Abilities: The Brain Eaters can latch onto a human host and, if connected to the neck, control how their brains operate, turning them into near-emotionless automatons.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-Mind-controlling monsters are always kind of scary, but the brain eaters are a little too adorable to be a credible threat. In fact, just look at the Trivia part for what we think they resemble the most.

Trivia: -Yes, Leonard "Spock" Nimoy is in this movie, and he's the one playing the old victim that looks like the Grail Knight from The Last Crusade crossed with Gandalf the White.

-These things resemble slightly larger Jorunna parvas (or bunny slippers, for more cynical people). Seriously, just look that up and tell us you didn't go "awwww" at the sight.
